About Our School

Sri Durugoji Gopala Rao Educational and Charitable Trust (R) started Vidyadayni School, in K.R.Nagar Extension of Harihar town in the year 2003. Housed in 4.5 acre land in a serene , pollution free, safe location, the school aims at becoming an institution known for excellent education. The school has a well established building, lush green park, play ground, water facility, small but pretty swimming pool, well-furnished class rooms, library, an imposing stage, computer and science labs. School has recently added Close Circuit (CC) Cameras in the class rooms for centralized control and HCL based Smart Class, an electronic aided learning facility. School management is planning to add feasible innovative facilities in phases, in future. For example the school annexed a mini zoo including rabbits, lovebirds, swans, turkeys, ducks, hens, tortoises and etc., It is introducing a charitable scheme namely ‘Genius 30’ wherein 30 merited students from low income group would be encouraged to pursue their PUC education including boarding and lodging free of cost.

The school has well defined objectives and values ( see our Mission Statement). It follows CBSE syllabus and uses teaching procedures improvised by NCERT. Every program is planned and executed keeping in view the all-round development of children. The school has presently I to X standards and plans to add plus 2 classes in future. The first batch of Tenth standard students appeared for Board Examination in the year 2008 - 09 and has consistently shown cent percent results in the following years.

The school caters to the educational needs of the poor and middle class people without any discrimination regarding religion, caste or creed. The school follows the Education Act / Rules laid by the government as applicable.

Importance is given to co-curricular activities – in compliance with CCE guidelines of CBSE - besides the curriculum, for a balanced development of the students. School activities are divided into Academic, Literary, Cultural, Physical, Technical and Manual. Each student who will be the member of one of the four houses namely Sathya, Shanthi, Seva and Shraddha is given opportunities to participate in the various competitions held from time to time, spread through the academic year. The aim is to inculcate competitive spirit, leadership, team work and build healthy character among the students. School is fully equipped to meet the co – curricular requirements.

The school is in constant touch with 33 Karnataka Bn, NCC, Davangere to institute Junior NCC for the benefit of students.
